DESCRIPTION
Hornady Precision Hunter 6.5 PRC 143 Grain ELD-X ammunition combines match-grade accuracy with the terminal performance required for long-range hunting. Loaded with Hornady’s 143 grain ELD-X bullet, this load features an aerodynamic secant ogive and boat tail profile with a high ballistic coefficient to help reduce drag, bullet drop, and wind drift.
The ELD-X bullet uses Hornady’s Heat Shield tip, constructed from heat-resistant polymer to maintain its aerodynamic shape during flight. A thinner jacket near the tip helps initiate expansion, while a thicker jacket at the base and Hornady’s InterLock ring help keep the core and jacket together for controlled expansion, weight retention, and deep penetration.
Key Features
- 143 Grain ELD-X: Extremely Low Drag eXpanding bullet designed for accurate long-range hunting performance.
- Match-Grade Accuracy: Precision-focused construction provides consistent downrange performance.
- High Ballistic Coefficient: Streamlined bullet design helps reduce drag, drop, and wind drift.
- Heat Shield Tip: Heat-resistant polymer resists deformation caused by aerodynamic heating.
- Secant Ogive: Aerodynamic profile contributes to efficient flight and long-range accuracy.
- Boat Tail Design: Streamlined bullet base further reduces aerodynamic drag.
- Controlled Expansion: Jacket construction is engineered to initiate and control expansion on impact.
- InterLock Ring: Helps keep the bullet core and jacket together during expansion.
- Weight Retention: Thickened jacket base promotes bullet integrity and deep penetration.
- Temperature Consistency: Ammunition is designed for consistent ignition across a wide range of temperature conditions.
- Long-Range Performance: ELD-X construction is designed to provide effective terminal performance beyond 400 yards.
